Sno-Isle Libraries' Lakewood/Smokey Point branch in Arlington rings in 2027 at midday, so young children can celebrate without staying up. The family celebration builds to a countdown and balloon drop at 12 noon, with face painting and balloon twisting by Paint with Melissa LLC. This year's theme is Dancing Through the Decades, and everyone is invited to dress in a favorite style from a past decade. It is a drop-in community event for all ages, running 11 am to 1 pm.
