About this adventure

The Schwartz Early Childhood School at the Stroum JCC opens its Light Lab, a multi-sensory immersive space where young children explore reflection, refraction, transparency, shadows and cause and effect by watching how light interacts with materials, surfaces and their own bodies. Children experiment with color mixing, projected light and shadow play to make artwork, and use mirror blocks and glowing manipulatives for matching and counting. The sessions connect the science of light to the meaning of light at Hanukkah. Open sessions follow Tot Shabbat on Dec. 4 and Dec. 11 (10:30–11:30 a.m.), run during the Shine Bright Hanukkah Family Show on Dec. 6 (1:30–3 p.m., show ticket required), and on Dec. 11 alongside the evening Family Hanukkah Celebration.
