About this adventure

Hillsborough County's Adaptive Recreation team runs an after-school program at the Ruskin Recreation Center for children and teens with disabilities, ages 5 to 17. The county describes it as adaptive recreation that gives children with disabilities a chance to interact and learn in a traditional recreational setting, staffed by the adaptive team at one staff member for every six students. The program runs on school days for the whole 2026–27 school year, Monday through Friday from 2 to 6 p.m., from August 10, 2026, to May 28, 2027. Families enroll through the county's online parks account; billing is $80 due at registration and then $80 every two weeks. The county's after-school parent handbook for 2026–27 is linked from the registration page. Ruskin is one of seven county recreation centers that list an adaptive after-school program this year.
