About this adventure

At the Gardenville Recreation Center on Symmes Road in Gibsonton, Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation offers supervised day camp on the weekdays when county schools are closed for winter break. The camp is open to kids 5 to 14 and runs long days, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the center's multipurpose room, with recreation staff organizing the games and activities. Families can pick one week or both: December 21–23 before Christmas, or December 28–31 between the holidays. The center is closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Each week is its own $40 registration in the county's online parks system, and children enrolled in the county's After-School program are not automatically signed up. Registration opened on September 7, and both weeks still showed open spots on October 27.
