About this adventure

A nonprofit history museum and village in Dade City dedicated to preserving and teaching Florida history before 1945. Families tour authentic pioneer buildings and exhibits, the Trilby Train Depot with its model train room, and a working cane mill used during festivals. It is an easy half-day stop for school-age kids learning Florida history, and toddlers can roam the grassy grounds between buildings. The gift shop stocks old-fashioned children's toys and novelty candies. The museum runs a calendar of themed festival days through the cooler months — a Civil War reenactment in November, the Dade City Christmas Parade it organizes in December, a cane syrup festival in January and a farm festival and quilt show in February — where special-event pricing applies. Summer hours may end early when no guests are on the grounds.
