About this adventure
A quieter, lower-crowd morning at the Virginia Zoo for guests of all abilities and their families, run with Autism Society Tidewater Virginia, Complete the Puzzle and Destination Family Services. Attendance is capped and every visitor, members included, needs a ticket for this date. Children can handle feathers, skulls and snake sheds at biofact tables, visit the Little Zoo in the World of Reptiles classroom, meet animal ambassadors, use activity carts and play in the Run Wild! Discovery Zone. The Virginia Zoo Express train does not run during the event to limit noise, but families can still look at and touch it. Local autism and therapy organizations host resource tables, so parents can talk with providers while kids explore.
