About this adventure
The Tidewater Striders' long-running Thanksgiving morning race starts and finishes at the Mt. Trashmore YMCA in Virginia Beach, and the club bills it as a quality running event for families and runners of all abilities. Families can choose from several distances. The free Toddler Turkey Trot is a 50-yard dash for ages 1 to 6 at 8 am. The 1-mile run starts at 8:15 am and suits school-age kids running with a parent. The 10K and a competitive walk start at 9 am, and there is a push-rim and hand-crank wheelchair 10K. Runners 22 and under save $8 on entry. Packet pickup is at the YMCA. Proceeds go to the Tidewater Striders scholarship fund. Toddler spots are limited, so register early online.
