A Burke Lake Park naturalist teaches families the basics of fishing on the lakefront on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10 to 11:30 am. Beyond casting and baiting, the session talks about how fishing connects people with the natural world. Rods and bait are provided, so families do not need their own gear. The program is listed for ages 5 to adult, and children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Participants 16 and older must have a valid Virginia fishing license. The fee is $14 and registration is online through Fairfax County Parks. Dress for a cool November morning by the water.
