Watkins Nature Center's annual Woolly Bear Wingding on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 10 am to 1 pm, celebrates the woolly bear caterpillar — the fuzzy black-and-brown caterpillar folk tradition treats as a winter weather forecaster. The morning is built around learning stations, crafts, activities, games and story times for the whole family, which makes it a good fit for preschool and early elementary children who like bugs. It is free and no registration is required, so families can drop in during the three hours.
