About this adventure

Through November 1, Thinkery's Spark Shop maker space is running an arachnid-themed build. Children first explore what makes an arachnid an arachnid (eight legs, two body sections, no antennae) and how spiders and their relatives differ from insects, then use colorful upcycled materials to construct a creepy-crawly creation of their own to take home. It is a hands-on, open-ended making activity that works for preschoolers with a grown-up's help and for school-age kids who want to engineer something more elaborate. It fits naturally into a Halloween-season visit to the museum and is included in general admission, so no extra ticket is needed.
