About this adventure

Now in its 14th year, the Cedar Park Turkey Day 5K is a Thanksgiving-morning race at John Gupton Stadium that is set up for families to run together and still be home in time for the turkey. Besides a timed and an untimed 5K over a course with some moderate hills, there are two shorter options for children: the Shake A Leg 1 Mile, open to ages 4 to 99, and the Little Gobbler 1K, a kids' run on a shortened version of the mile course. Both short races stay inside the stadium's loop road, away from traffic, while Cedar Park Police manage the major intersections on the 5K route. Every athlete receives a custom race shirt (while supplies last), a bib and a finisher's medal, and all kids get finishing medals; 5K age-group awards start with an 11-and-under bracket. Packet pickup, with in-person registration, is the day before at the Cedar Park Recreation Center and on race morning at the stadium. Families can park on the visitor side of the stadium, close to the start and finish.
