About this adventure

White House Nursery, a grower on Falls Road in Upperco, turns its greenhouse into a Winter Wonderland for a week in early December, and Saturday is the day built for families. Santa arrives at 10:30 AM and poses for a free professional holiday photo with each family until 2:30 PM. While you are there, children can make a free Christmas craft (while supplies last), everyone can cast a vote for a favorite poinsettia, and holiday backdrops set around the greenhouse let you take your own family pictures as well. The evening before, the nursery stays open late for its first Christmas Makers Market with local artisans, light refreshments, kids' crafts and the greenhouse glowing after dark. Through November and December visitors can also build a custom fresh evergreen wreath with ribbons, bows and ornaments as a self-guided activity, no registration required.
