The Mystic Runners' fifth annual Santa Dash Classic is a holiday 5K run and walk on the flat loop around Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield, opening with a free Kids Fun Run for children 10 and under at 10:00 am. The 5K for runners and walkers of all abilities starts at 10:30, so families can do both: children race first while parents cheer, then everyone heads out on the lake loop. Festive outfits fit the spirit of the morning. Money raised funds $1,000 scholarships for graduating seniors from Wakefield, Woburn, Reading and Stoneham; the club has awarded twenty since 2022. Early bib pickup is Friday, December 18, 5-7 pm at the Lakeside Inn, 595 North Avenue, and same-day registration runs 8:00-9:30 am. Register ahead online; the 5K price rises on November 1.
