During Zoo New England's Carnivore Enrichment Days, animal care staff give the zoo's big carnivores a large cut of meat with bone and connective tissue still attached, which encourages natural ripping and shredding behaviour. Keepers are on hand at the start of each scheduled feeding to answer questions and explain why enrichment matters for the animals' well-being. Stone Zoo feedings: bush dog 9:30am, cougar 9:50am, jaguar 10:10am, snow leopard 11:20am. The zoo notes that it is always up to the animals when and how they engage, so viewing is not guaranteed even at the scheduled times. A good add-on to a zoo visit for school-age children curious about predators and how keepers care for them. Included with general zoo admission; members need no extra purchase or reservation. Some children may find watching animals tear meat intense.
