Winner's Circle Running Club

The Winner's Circle Running Club's Santa's Toy Trot starts and finishes at the Sweetsir School in Merrimac. Before the main race, children 10 and under can join a free Elves Fun Run around the elementary school, led by a club member, at 9:45 am. The road race at 10:00 is built on a two-mile paved loop: participants decide as they go whether to stop at 2 miles or keep going for 4 or 6, which makes it easy for families with older kids to choose their own distance. The route is flat, and the organizers describe it as stroller- and pet-friendly. Everyone is asked to wear their most outrageous ugly Christmas sweater, with prizes for the best one. Registrants can enter at a lower price by bringing a new toy; part of the proceeds supports the Merrimac Holiday Helper Program for local families. The race runs in any weather unless police close the roads, and fees are non-refundable.
