A festival-style afternoon at the Boston Nature Center devoted to the creatures under the logs. Families flip logs and look through magnifiers at slugs, pill bugs, millipedes and other decomposers recycling the forest floor, learn how they connect to composting and healthy ecosystems, and make art inspired by what they find. Stations cover life cycles, food webs and close-up discoveries for all ages, and drop-in timing from 11 am to 3 pm makes it easy to fit around naps. Wear sturdy footwear for outdoor exploring. Parking, bathrooms and a water-bottle filling station are on site.
