The Skating Club of Boston opens its Norwood home rink to the public for a handful of evening public skates. Sessions take place in the Tenley E. Albright Performance Center, a 2,500-seat Olympic-size arena that hosts national and international figure skating events, and no membership or skating experience is needed. Pay at the front desk (Club Office) on arrival; there is no advance purchase. Rental skates and skate aids (skating trainers) are available for beginners. The upcoming two-hour sessions fall on Saturday evenings in November and during the December school break, which makes them an easy family outing. Norwood residents get half-price admission, and Wonderfund families get free entry and rentals for up to 4 guests with an Access Card and photo ID. Guest coaching is not allowed on public sessions. The club also runs The Skating Academy learn-to-skate classes for children and adults.
