Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury runs its Sweet Halloween weekends on October 17-18 and 24-25. Children trick-or-treat along a trail with costumed staff at field and orchard stations, ride a hayride through the orchards, and can enter a free costume contest; there is a makers market, a free guess-how-many tent, food and drink vendors, and free live music from 12 to 3 pm. The children's trick-or-treat, tractor rides, costume contest and makers market run 10 am-2 pm. Animal meets run 10 am-2 pm on listed days: a horse and alpacas on October 18 and bunnies on October 24. Every child collecting treats needs a ticket regardless of age; adults do not need tickets, and infants in costume who are not collecting treats do not need one. Tickets must be bought in advance; refunds need 48 hours' notice and carry a 25% fee. The farm store is open 8 am-6 pm daily and no pets are allowed.
