A family-friendly drop-in afternoon on the Hunnewell Lawn at the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, exploring the most defensive and unusual plants in the Arboretum's collections, including thorny, toxic, explosive-seeding and glowing species. A kids' storytime is at 1:00 pm. No registration is needed; stop by the lawn any time between 12:00 and 3:00 pm. The lawn is just inside the Arborway Gate on the right and is flat and just off the paved road. If it rains the program may be rescheduled to the rain date, November 1, 2:00-4:00 pm. The Arboretum states that all its events are free.
