Wallace Pruitt Recreation Center in west Charlotte turns its gymnasium into a big-screen family movie theater for an evening. Families are encouraged to come in pajamas and bring blankets to get comfortable, and popcorn and pizza are provided. The program is listed for ages 3 and up, and the county asks families to register in advance on its ActiveNet site to save their seats; about 40 spots were open when checked. It runs two hours on a Friday evening, which makes it an easy end-of-week outing for younger children.
