Most Friday mornings from November through February, Stevens Creek Nature Center in Mint Hill lights its fire pit for a drop-in s'mores session from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Families can stop by to toast marshmallows, make their own s'mores and enjoy the campfire in the woods; there is no need to register. The program meets at the fire pit behind the nature center, or under the nature center porch if it rains. It is listed for all ages, which makes it a good outing for preschoolers and homeschool families. There is no program on November 27, December 25 or January 1.
