About this adventure

Dancers from South Charlotte Ballet Company visit the Matthews Library for an interactive storytime for children ages 4 to 8. The 45-minute session mixes light stretching and beginning ballet steps with short stories read by the company's ballerinas, and children get an up-close look at pointe shoes and a real tutu. As a prelude to the holiday season, it ends with a visit from one or two members of the company's Nutcracker cast and a special abridged reading of The Nutcracker, a gentle introduction for children who have never seen the ballet. Wear clothes that are easy to move in. The library takes registrations for a limited number of places, so sign up on the event page before you go.
