About this adventure

Main Street Children's Museum in downtown Rock Hill opens early for a free sensory-friendly hour reserved for children with sensory sensitivities and their families. During the session the museum turns its lights low and switches off or puts away its noisiest play pieces, including the air maze, so children can explore at their own pace. The museum is built around artist Vernon Grant's illustrations, with nursery rhymes such as Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater and Simple Simon turned into life-size play and learning spaces for children from birth to six, which makes it a good fit for preschoolers who find the regular, busier hours overwhelming. The session in this window is Saturday, December 12, 2026, from 9 to 10 a.m.; the museum repeats it every other month (the next is in February). It is presented with ABS Kids.
