About this adventure
A sensory-friendly performance of Children's Theatre of Charlotte's stage version of Laura Numeroff's circular picture book, in which one cookie for a hungry mouse sets off a chain of ever-sillier demands — milk, a straw, a haircut in the bathroom mirror — in a high-energy, slapstick one-act of about 60 minutes recommended for ages 4 and up. The Sunday-morning sensory-friendly show is adapted for families with children or adults on the autism spectrum or with other sensory sensitivities: softened stage lighting and sound, house lights that stay on at a dimmed level, extra room to move around, quiet spaces, headphones, fidgets and other sensory objects. A social story is available on the theater's website so children can preview the visit. The performance is in the Wells Fargo Playhouse at ImaginOn, the children's library and theater building in Uptown Charlotte; the box office (704-973-2828) can arrange help in advance.
