Galewood Park on the Far West Side hosts a 'not-so-scary' Halloween event on Friday, October 30, from 4 to 6 p.m., designed for children who want the fun without the fright. Kids come in costume and move between activity stations at their own pace: story time, spooky bingo, a photo booth, a ghost hunt adventure, a craft station, pumpkin toss and monster bowling, among others. It is free and listed for youth, which makes it a good fit for preschoolers and early-elementary kids with a parent. Galewood Park is on Bloomingdale Avenue near Narragansett.
