About this adventure

The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District's annual Butterball Burner 5K Fun Run starts from the H-F Racquet & Fitness Club in Homewood on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. It is a 5K run and walk billed as a way to burn some calories ahead of the holiday meal, and the park district says it is open to everyone, all ages and abilities are welcome, and no club membership is required, so walkers and families can take part alongside runners. Race-day registration and check-in open at 7 a.m., an hour before the 8 a.m. start. Registration is online through RunSignup, and the race fee rises closer to race day: $30 for sign-ups from October 6 to November 19 and $35 from November 20.
