Santa needs new recruits, and kids can prove they have what it takes at Westmont's North Pole Elf Olympics, part of the Holly Days celebration, on Thursday, December 3 from 6 to 7:15 pm at the Westmont Community Center. Children test their speed, skill and holiday spirit in six events: candy cane target practice, candy cane stringing, a chimney toss, a Rudolph relay race, the ultimate naughty-or-nice test and a reindeer dash. Afterwards they celebrate with a photo on Santa's sleigh. The listing does not give a fee or age range; check with the park district when registering.
