About this adventure

The Illinois Shotokan Karate Club offers a free mini try-karate class at the park district's Community Pavilion. Kids who have wondered what a karate class is like learn some basic karate techniques from the club, whose head instructor, John DiPasquale, is a four-time national champion and president of the American Shotokan Karate Association. It is not a drop-off class: parents must stay for the whole session. Spots are limited and registration is required through the park district's online registration. Uniforms and belt testing are available as options through the club's instructor.
