About this adventure

On Saturday, December 12, from noon to 4 p.m., the McHenry County Conservation District sets up several self-guided stations at the Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Ringwood, where visitors create one-of-a-kind ornaments from materials found in nature. The drop-in craft is free and open to all ages, with no registration. It runs at the same time as Holiday at Grandma's House at the district's 1854 Powers-Walker House in the same park. The visitor center features a new nature topic each month with indoor displays and activities, lends free exploration backpacks with binoculars and field guides, and offers scavenger hunts for exploring Glacial Park; its winter building hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
