About this adventure

Chicago Children's Theatre brings back The Beatrix Potter Holiday Party, an interactive trunk-and-puppet show with original music, as part of its 2026–2027 season. Storytellers combine Beatrix Potter's narration with gentle interactive moments that invite young watchers to join in. This year's stories are listed as The Tale of Jeremy Fisher, The Tale of the Tailor of Gloucester, The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse and The Tale of Peter Rabbit. After each show, families go to the lobby to play with the puppets, take pictures with the cast and share a holiday party with treats. Performances are in the Pritzker Family Studio Theatre at the theatre's West Loop home, 100 S. Racine Ave. The show opens December 5; public performances are at 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., with an added 2 p.m. show on some dates, through December 30. The theatre calls it ideal for ages up to 8 and gives a run time of 75 minutes, subject to change. Lap seats for children 18 months and under cost $13 per show plus fees and are reserved by phone or bought at the box office on the day.
