About this adventure

The Beth Fowler Dance Company presents its 33rd annual production of The Nutcracker at the historic Egyptian Theatre in downtown DeKalb over the weekend of December 4 to 6. The theatre notes that many area families have made the production part of their holiday tradition. The ballet tells the familiar story with dancing, costumes and stage sets: the Christmas Fairy conjures visions of young Clara and her family celebrating Christmas, and after the Christmas Eve party guests leave, Clara falls asleep and dreams of toy soldiers and rats battling in her living room before travelling through a Snowy Forest to the Land of the Sweets. Seats are reserved. Regular seats cost $24 for adults and $17 for children 12 and under, and premium seats closer to the stage cost $29 and $22, plus online fees that are waived at the box office. Advance pricing ends November 30, when adult base prices rise by $3. Children 3 and under are free but must still have a ticket, which can be reserved online, by phone or at the door.
