About this adventure

On the Saturday morning of Yorkville's Holiday Celebration Weekend, Santa sets up his workshop inside the Yorkville American Legion Post 489 for three hours of family visits hosted by the city's Parks and Recreation Department. Children can share their wish lists with Santa and his elves. The city warns that there may be lines, and parking near the Legion is limited, so plan extra time or carpool. The same morning the Legion is the start of the Rudolph Run 5K at 10 a.m. and the one-mile Jingle Jog Family Fun Run at 12:30 p.m., so families can combine a Santa visit with the fun run. It suits children of all ages, from babies having a first Santa photo to older kids who still want to hand over a letter. The visit follows the Friday-night Holiday Parade and tree lighting at Riverfront Park.
