About this adventure
Each production in the Playhouse's Rouse Theatre offers one performance with sign language interpretation, and for this season's A Christmas Carol that is the Sunday matinee on December 6. Deaf and hard-of-hearing children and adults can follow Scrooge's Christmas Eve journey with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come through ASL interpreters while the full staging, music and effects play out. The Playhouse describes the adaptation as suitable for general audiences including children 5 and older, noting that a few ghostly appearances may scare younger children; because of the show's length, children under 5 are not admitted. The performance runs about 1 hour 45 minutes plus a 20-minute intermission.
