About this adventure

Observatory Park in Montville Township is an 1,100-acre dark-sky park built to explore nature "from the ground to the galaxies." Families can walk the Planetary Trail, with interactive pods spaced to the scale of the solar system, and the short Weather Trail, whose stations show ways to study the weather, then find life-size cornerstones of the Great Pyramid of Giza, earthen mounds and henge stones. The Robert McCullough Science Center, Oberle Observatory and Nassau Astronomical Station open only during naturalist-led programs, such as the free The Sky Tonight planetarium show, so check the program calendar for those.
