About this adventure

To mark the first day of Kwanzaa, Franklin Park Conservatory hosts ethnomusicologist Jason Bouchea, associated faculty at The Ohio State University, with a troupe of African drummers and dancers. Their performance celebrates Umoja, unity, the first of Kwanzaa's seven principles. There are two shows in the Garden Pavilion during the Conservatory's winter-break family series, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. They are included with general admission and need no extra reservation, so families can catch a show and then explore the warm biomes and holiday displays. Live drumming and dance make this an easy introduction to Kwanzaa for children of any age.
