A one-hour animal encounter at Cedar Hill State Park in which Ranger Will introduces the snakes that live around the park and separates fact from fiction about them. Families get a close look at live ambassador animals brought by Dogwood Canyon Audubon, which makes the session a good fit for curious children who want to see snakes safely and learn which local species they might meet on a trail. The program meets at the Penn Farm parking lot. Bring water and a snack. The program is free with the $7 per person park entry fee or a Texas State Park Pass, and children 12 and under enter the park free. Note that the page's own description gives a different date (August 8) from its October 31 listing, so check with the park before you go.

What was checked & what still needs confirmation
TPWD park calendar page read by curl. The page header says Sat, October 31, 2026, 1:00-2:00p and it is listed for Oct 31 on the park events page, but the body text still says 'When: Saturday, August 8th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm' (copied from an earlier session), so it needs confirmation.
