Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine runs its So Much Christmas season from mid-November to early January. The centerpiece, ice! featuring Harry Potter, is a walk-through attraction kept at 9°F, with about ten scenes from the Harry Potter films carved from 2 million pounds of ice, frozen tunnels and two-story ice slides plus a child-sized slide. Hooded parkas (infant to adult 4XL) are provided; most visitors spend 20–40 minutes inside and must wear closed-toe shoes to use the slides. Other separately ticketed activities around the resort's Christmas Village include gingerbread decorating, photos with Santa, ice tubing, Snowball Build & Blast, Mrs. Claus' storytime and Build-A-Bear. Timed tickets must be bought in advance online; there is no on-site box office. Parking is extra ($30 self-parking).
