December's First Friday at Historic Nash Farm has children helping the Farmhands get the 1869 farmstead ready for Christmas. Together they string popcorn garland and make paper chains to decorate the farm, and each child creates an old-fashioned ornament to take home. The morning program (10 a.m. to noon) is open to all ages and suits preschoolers through elementary-age kids with a grown-up. Advance tickets ($5 for anyone 3 and older) are at capacity; a limited number of $10 walk-up tickets may be available, and children 2 and under are free.
