About this adventure
Symphony Arlington's holiday concert at the historic Arlington Music Hall downtown pairs seasonal orchestral favorites with the orchestra's annual Christmas Pops Sing-Along, when the audience joins in on the carols. The program, with mezzo-soprano Lauren Randolph, includes Leroy Anderson's medley A Christmas Festival, Chadwick's Noël, music from Menotti's Christmas opera Amahl and the Night Visitors and Jingle Bells Forever. It is an affordable way to take school-age children to a full orchestra concert in a historic downtown music hall, and the sing-along gives kids something to do besides sit still. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and runs about two hours, so it suits older children best. Tickets are sold through the orchestra's website; Visit Arlington lists prices from $5 to $50.
