About this adventure
Dallas Park and Recreation's Outdoor Adventures team runs a three-day Thanksgiving-break day camp at Samuell Farm, the city's large nature property just east of Dallas off US-80. Counselors teach archery, fishing, leather working, survival skills, mountain biking, nature photography and geocaching, so campers spend each full day outdoors trying something new. Camp runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday of Thanksgiving week. For families in central Dallas, an optional shuttle leaves Kidd Springs Recreation Center (drop-off 8:15 a.m., pick-up 5:15 p.m.) for an extra $25. Register through the city's WebTrac system.
