The Comerica Center in Frisco, home rink of the Dallas Stars' Frisco StarCenter, dresses its public skating sessions up as Winter Wonderland for the holidays. Families skate in a festive indoor setting through the school break, and the season includes an on-ice show by Frisco's own Skating Academy skaters, a Santa meet-and-greet night and a food-pantry skate. Pre-registering for public sessions online is recommended. Parking is free for skaters even when an arena event is on: tell the parking attendant you are there to skate. The organizer notes that all public sessions use flashing and colored lighting, which matters for light-sensitive children. Standard StarCenter pricing applies: general admission $17, children 3 and under free, skate rental $6. Beginners can use skating props in designated bucket zones on Friday evenings, weekends and themed sessions.
