About this adventure

Santa and some of his friends stop by Festival Park in downtown Castle Rock on Saturday evening, December 12, from 5 to 7 p.m., to read holiday favorites aloud from the park's giant Storyteller Chair. Between stories, families can roast marshmallows and make s'mores, warm up with hot chocolate and write letters to Santa, along with other family-friendly activities. The Town of Castle Rock lists it as a free community event during its Season of the Star, when downtown is decorated with hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights, so it pairs well with a stroll past the holiday decorations or a ride on the free downtown trolley on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Festival Park sits in the heart of downtown at Second Street and has fire pits and a large pavilion; dress warmly for an evening outdoors.
