Recreation activities run from 4 to 6:30 p.m. (the city lists haunted houses, carnival games, face painting and DJs at participating centers), and Detroit Fire Department Engine House 56 holds its trunk-or-treat at Farwell from 5 to 7 p.m. Call the center at (313) 224-1100 for exact activity times. The event is free and part of the City of Detroit's citywide Halloween celebration.

What was checked & what still needs confirmation
All Halloween in the D sites are listed on one City of Detroit page (curl, read 2026-10-21); 'free' comes from the program text ('safe, fun, and free experiences'). The page's sign-up link is for volunteers and participating partners; no family registration is mentioned. Recreation activities 4–6:30 pm; Fire Engine House 56 at Farwell 5–7 pm, so endTime is 19:00. Address conflict: the recreation list says 2781 E. Outer Drive, the fire list says 'Farwell Rec. Center, 2711 E. Outer Dr.'; the recreation center's own line is used. ZIP not printed.
