Storytime at Ford House is a free weekly program for children ages 7 and under, held every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Jensen Kahn Classrooms at the Ford House Visitor Center in Grosse Pointe Shores. A Ford House educator reads a picture book aloud and then leads a hands-on activity that extends the story, at a relaxed pace with room to wiggle so children can join in at whatever level suits them. Books rotate monthly: in October 2026 the group reads Stumpkin by Lucy Ruth Cummins with a pumpkin coloring activity, and in November it reads Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin followed by playtime. Sessions last about 30 minutes. Admission is free for everyone; registration is free and encouraged so staff can plan for your group. A good fit for toddlers and preschoolers with a parent or caregiver, and an easy way to combine a short program with a walk on the estate grounds.
