Kemeny Recreation Center, 2260 S. Fort St., is among the Detroit recreation centers hosting a free Halloween in the D party on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. Activities at participating centers include haunted houses, carnival games, face painting and DJs, according to the city, with exact times varying by center. The phone number for Kemeny is printed inconsistently on the city page, so check with Detroit Parks and Recreation before going. The city is also recruiting volunteers to help with setup, candy and activities at sites like this one.

What was checked & what still needs confirmation
All Halloween in the D sites are listed on one City of Detroit page (curl, read 2026-10-21); 'free' comes from the program text ('safe, fun, and free experiences'). The page's sign-up link is for volunteers and participating partners; no family registration is mentioned. Phone left blank: the page displays (313) 628-2819 but links tel:(313)628-0956. ZIP not printed.
