A working farm inside Kensington Metropark in Milford where families meet chickens, goats, sheep, cattle and draft horses and get a glimpse of rural life. Seasonal public programming runs year-round, including festivals, maple sugaring, sheep shearing and a you-pick pumpkin patch. Public hayrides (sleigh rides in winter when conditions allow) run Saturdays and Sundays noon-4 p.m., last about 20 minutes and cost $5 adult, $3 senior (62+), $3 children 3-12, free 2 and under; tickets are sold on site at the Farm Center office. Private charter hayrides are $50 for 30 minutes on most weekdays. Farm Center hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March-October and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. November-February, closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. A Metroparks daily vehicle pass ($10) or annual pass is required to enter the park, which also offers an 8.5-mile paved hike-bike trail, nature trails, a nature center and a winter sledding hill.
