Detroit teens ages 13 to 18 face off in a two-round spoken-word poetry battle at the Wright Museum, presented with InsideOut Literary Arts, the city's largest and oldest literary nonprofit. Host La Shaun phoenix Moore keeps the night moving while a pre-selected panel of judges chooses three cash-prize winners. Any teen in metro Detroit may compete but must register in advance — there is no day-of sign-up. Audience admission is free, so families and friends can come to cheer and snap. Doors open at 4 p.m.; the program runs 5 to 7:30 p.m.
