Santa's Magic Forest is a long-running Downriver holiday walk-through display built from antique decorations that once filled the J.L. Hudson Co. department store in downtown Detroit. The City of Taylor calendar lists it at Eureka Heights Elementary School on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from the weekend after Thanksgiving through December 20, 2026, and invites whole families to come through the displays together. Families can add photos with Santa or with the Grinch for $10 each. General admission is $5, and children 3 and under get in free. Calendar entries start at 5:00 p.m. on Fridays and at noon on Saturdays and Sundays; closing times are not printed on the city listing, so check the organizer's page (flcfp.org/smp) before you go. It is an easy, indoor holiday outing for toddlers through grade-schoolers, and a nostalgic one for grandparents who remember the Hudson's displays.
