About this adventure

For one Sunday afternoon the Outdoor Adventure Center fills with local organizations running science, technology, engineering, art and math activities for families. The expo is built around hands-on tables, demonstrations and take-home resources that tie STEAM ideas to nature and everyday life, so children can test, build and ask questions rather than read panels. It is a drop-in afternoon: families can spend an hour at the expo tables and then explore the center's permanent hands-on exhibits and simulators about Michigan's outdoors. The event suits a range of ages, from preschoolers who want to touch everything to older kids curious about how things work. The expo is included with regular admission; a quieter accessibility session runs in the morning before it.
