Many kids have made a sun print on blue cyanotype paper, but at this Seven Ponds Nature Center workshop they learn a different light-based technique. Anthotypes are sun prints made with natural materials, using plant pigments that fade where sunlight hits them. A naturalist explains the process, then participants create their own prints to take home, combining a bit of chemistry and botany with art. The workshop runs Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the nature center near Dryden in Lapeer County. The cost is $5 for members and $7 for non-members. The program page does not set an age range, so it suits school-age children and their adults. All Seven Ponds programs require pre-registration, and space is limited.
